L5 Performs WinCE Driver Development for PadCom, Inc.

April 25th, 2002

L5 Software Group performed consulting work with PadCom, Inc. The following is a testimonial from one of PadCom's senior software engineers...

"Impact of Assistance from L5 Software Group

Padcom approached L5SG to assist in identifying synchronization issues during changes in the IP stack associated with a NIC being shutdown and restarted, either by the user or the OS. The problems manifested themselves in the form of system crashes (BSODs) of various types during network adapter shutdowns.

Starting with a complete source of the driver, but not the user mode code, L5SG identified specific code problems and issues that directly led to a resolution of the current problem within about a week. Additionally, the review identified other less robust areas of the code and basic design issues that may have never been addressed. This was a significant help as I had had been battling the issues for more than two months. The assistance provided by L5SG, through phone conversations, email and a final report, was very concise and directly affected a solution to the problem.

I expect that I would have lost another month or more without this assistance. I could not be happier about the interactions I had with everyone at L5SG. From my perspective, the direct access to the L5SG engineers and their systematic approach to problem assessment and solution allowed me to continue with my development in other areas and more than justified the cost of the review."

About PadCom, Inc.
Padcom produces a mobile wireless router that runs under the Windows 2000 operating system.
